Farnborough Air Show is primarily a trade fair and is held in July every other year alternating with Paris Air Show.

The show gives aerospace companies the opportunity to showcase their products to potential customers who will hopefully place lucrative orders. Farnborough Air Show is a seven day event, Monday – Friday are trade days and Saturday – Sunday are public days. The main problem for aircraft enthusiasts attending on public days is that it is fairly common for some of the aircraft to have departed the show earlier in the week for example the Boeing 787 and Sukhoi Superjet.

Airbus sent one of their new A380’s to this years show which is for Malaysia Airlines but unfortunately this also departed the show prior to the public days and instead they flew over one of their earlier model F-WWDD c/n 004 which has attended previous Farnborough Air Shows.
