Burn to ground

One of the victims of Mafred von Richthofen was Barker, pilot of 3 Sq was flying Camel D6439 and was shot down at 1840 hrs SW of Bois de Hamel. His aircraft caught on fire and burned until it hit the ground. This digital in action art show this very sad episode from the combat life. Mafred von Richthofen was well known to express his impressions in his letters to his mother. Mafred von Richthofen was top credited German WW1 ace.
