Nad poljem Solunskim

This digital art which I have named “Nad poljem Solunskim” is made under the impression of the Serbian pilots and their combat history. Serbia is among the first country in the world who have established air force and among the first one to use it operationally in combat. After the retreat to Greece, Serbian equipment was mostly lost so all new material was provided from Allies. One of the most important fighter use was French light design Nieuport XVII. Art bellow show this type of airplanes in the patrol over the Sallonika area were the Serbian troops was placed. Airplane is standard silver and insignia is French in that period. This type stays in service within new state after the first World War.
