Yes, a lot of what happened in that time is still secret, it seems. I met a man who flew on RB-47s during the cold war and he would never talk about some of the places they flew.

There were so many reconnaissance flights during that time that I'm surprised that more combats didn't happen. A very turbulent time in history, and really not so long ago!

I lived in Yuma, Arizona in the late 1980s and the Marine Corps Air Station was just a few miles from where I worked. The home unit was equipped with Harriers and so I often got to see and hear them flying. Really a loud machine but fun to watch!

Harriers always look aggressive with all those weapons pylons! Good work, mate!

Thanks, mates, it's an easy build, I must say.

Just one cup of coffee and the cockpit was installed, fuselage glued together and wing added. The fit is extremely nice with only a little extra work required in a couple of small areas. It won't need much filler, either!

Here we go, cockpit assembly and painting is nearly done. Great Wall has built the instrument panels in three pieces, the front with dial faces pre-drilled, a decal with all instruments, and the rear to sandwich it all together. It works quite nicely even though my photos don't show it so well. Then I moved on to the wing and wheelwells, possibly tomorrow night I'll finish the two seats. A word of warning--I usually place the seats into the cockpit after everything is assembled, but these won't fit into the opening! So, seats will be finished and installed in the tub before assembling the two fuselage halves.

We're finally enjoying some sun after welcome rain, so here are a few photos of the finished Weekend Edition. I found it a very nice and relaxing kit and the surface detail is so well done I feel like I could rivet it together!

Good to know your method here--surprising fit for a Hasegawa product!

Yes, it's really a nice kit, so far advanced from the very old T-33s that were produced before. Even the intake ducting is represented in the fuselage. The fit is quite fine so far as I've dry-fitted it and there are lots of details.

Here is the new T-33 project I'm building for my buddy. I'll talk about it more later, right now just a couple of pictures and I must cook supper!
