Yup, let us know if it is successful. With those big airplanes to spray, you'll need a quart of Alclad anyway!!!!

I add lacquer thinner to my metalizer-type paints with good results. Try it on a small amount of your Alclad to see if it thins out.

This is beautiful, all the time spent masking has paid off perfectly!

Further, these were maintained very cleanly it seems, so extra work on your part is probably not necessary? It is a true beauty, that I can see!!

Great! Love this one!!

I just went way back and looked at the first release Eduard Tempest I built and it is amazing how far molding has advanced in thes few years.....

Yes, good work on these--too bad about the gear doors, but I reckon they never intended for these big kits to be built "in flight". You are giving me the urge to work on my Superfort again someday!!

When you first mentioned these doors I immediately looked at some photos--you're correct to open them! This is just like the D model Mustang, the doors bleed open after the engine is shut down.

Thanks, friends.

I've assembled the primary sections together, here is the result. This kit fits together so nicely that I almost painted it in sections like my Fleet Air Arm Hellcat, but decided to glue the wings on first to maintain strength for later.

It won't be long until painting starts.....

This is truly a relaxing kit to assemble, it goes together with little need of filler. The only thing I can find wrong with it is that it will be BIG when finished--quite unlike all the Bf 109s I've been used to!! The engine is assembled with kit parts only, no PE or other embellishment and it still looks pretty nice.

Yes, I test-fit the turret right after I glued the fuselage halves together. (Last time I follow the instruction sheet!!! :))I think the best solution to it would be to complete the turret and paint it, install it in place and then glue the halves together. I never really thought of that alternative and now it's too late, but I did pry it in there just like you did, so that's what will happen.
