:) :-clap Profa, my kits are in boxes in my toolshed. I know what you are saying when you talk about rummaging through them! Thank goodness my wife told me to mark all the moving boxes so I have some idea of which ones to cut open when I need something........ :-roll

When I do refinish the Corsair it'll be a good learning/teaching experience on paint stripping, disassembly, canopy repair and on and on.

I agree, everyone should put forth their feelings on the idea.

Maybe, rather than doing the restoration in a normal Group project, we could someday do a "Group Restoration/Rebuild" of any finished model that we want to redo, regardless of type.

The cockpit is now assembled and installed in the top fuselage half. Before I put the cockpit and instrument panel in place I filled/smoothed the seam on the spine of the fuselage and painted the black area under the windscreen.

I also added the wheelwell bulkheads this morning and started to do a bit of detail painting in the gear wells.

I thought that might be the one but decided to check. A good choice, especially since draken35 has his shiny new F4U-7!

I have a question to pose to all who might be in this Group Build--do you mind if I restore an old model rather than a new project? I have a couple of Corsairs that were damaged during one of our moves and they've been rotting in a box for many years. My plan would be to completely disassemble and strip the paint from one of my old Otaki kits and renew it using new methods. Opinions are welcome!

We've all been busy lately, so I'll ask now--- Has anyone decided for certain on the subject for the next Group Build? I'm just curious what April holds in store. ;)

We should start the Let Let Let Warbird Recovery service

I've already begun the LLL Recovery program, Matt! (I've sent you a PM, by the way.)

This is the remains of the P-66s little brother, a BT-13. It's now part of a museum I'm a member of in southwestern Nebraska. This airframe was destroyed in a tornado in the early sixties and we've got the remains for a possible static display someday.

Looking forward to your progress, No.1!

Yes, you're right about the Chinese having some treasures. Here in the U.S. many mouths have watered over the P-61 and P-47. My personal favorites are the two Tu-4s that were converted to turboprop power by the Chinese. Then there are the Soviet designs, Chinese-built machines......the list goes on!  :-cool

It looks like it was possibly in a flat spin, as though the control system was compromised in some way. The hole in the left intake duct could be from the heat of the fire that burned the center section out, but then again?

The Vultee fighter is interesting to me even if it wasn't too successful. A lot of people (myself included) have wondered over the years if there are Vanguard parts still in China. Good subject, No.1!

This is my scribing, scraping, paint detailing, fingernail cleaning tool. :-tri I can't remember where it came from but I've had it for most of my modeling life.
