Great work! It's so good to see a Halifax built--an unsung machine along with the Stirling.

I can confirm--Consolidated used LOTS of rivets when they built an airplane!!!!!

Yes, but I had to do a little touching up where the tape lifted the grey. Faulty preparation on my part!

Finally some time spent on the T-33. Next step is to start placing decals.

Thank you friends! "Insane" is just about the right word!!!!

Here is the right side of the interior almost finished. Next up will be the left and then a very careful "audit" of all areas to make sure no white remains. Then I will use the airbrush to touch up a couple of bare spots (really small places where I rubbed too hard) and then polishing for final shine.

I must comment that the factory paint job is absolutely impeccable once the white is removed, really just as smooth as any factory paint I've ever dealt with. Some VW experts claim that the 1955 to 1957 era Beetles had probably the best quality of any of them, and the paint on Ingrid seems to bear witness to that!

Yes, you're right! Originally I was going to remove all paint and refinish, but then I saw how nice the original paint was underneath! This is a lot of labor, but the interior will have all original paint it looks like!

Yesterday I spent 9 hours stripping the thick white enamel from Ingrid's instrument panel. Lots of work, but it was worth it!

Yes, I bought this one many, many years ago and filed it away. In fact, I'm almost certain I bought this from Bill Koster in person at an IPMS National Competition.

I do remember this conversion kit from '80, excellent you have it... maybe nice build come here?

Maybe I should! I have the Monogram kit and Koster kit, selected the paint scheme already.......only two things are missing right now--time and a place to put the finished model. It is a big machine in 1/48!

I've got one of the Koster vacuform conversion kits for the Privateer in 1/48 scale so this thread is of great interest to me!!!! I have a scheme for mine all picked out (dark blue, medium blue, white scheme) and maybe I'll find the kit since you've revived my interest in the PB4Y-2!
