The Albatros is a very interesting trainer and light combat airplane and during the last decades it was the subject of several model projects. One of the very interesting to mention is the Mark I model kit in 1/144.

This kit is injection molded and no matter of its small scale, it has full surface details and even more, elements like the wheels are very detailed. The kit I would like to present to you has stock number MKM 14412 and comes in a small, soft box. Contents present four frets of the injected parts (one of them transparent), instruction leaflet and very nicely printed decals. This kit is dedicated to the U.S. operators so four finish patterns provided inside are all American machines.

It is an absolute easy to build kit, it progresses very nicely. Parts are very good and no matter that the fuselage has no guiding pins, it is easy to assemble. I found some need for filler on some join lines but nothing critical, after sanding just small line remained there. You will need to use is some weight in the nose and I cut the top off of a nail and placed it there. The interior is simple, only three colors used but take a look on the images of actual aircraft since some details could vary.

My choice was one all grey aircraft. After drying, I painted yellow tips on the wings. What is very useful is that the manufacturer provides some area as decals such as the anti glare area on the nose and wing tips. This much reduces the work load and makes it much easier to complete.

This is a great kit and definitely a one day project. Absolutely versatile project, it could be built by novice modeler but also offer options to be upgraded and enhanced by the experienced modeler. Highly recommended kit and you can find your sample here!

Great thanks to Lubos Vinar from Hobbyshop for the free sample of this product.
