Between 1942 and 1945 a variety of aircraft operated from Dunsfold, including B-25 Mitchell Bombers, Typhoons, Mustangs, Mosquitoes and Spitfires.

After the war, the airfield was used as a repatriation centre and over 47,000 prisoners of war were returned to their homelands using Dakota, Lancaster, Stirling and Halifax aircraft.

Held annually at Dunsfold Park in Surrey (also home to BBC’s Top Gear), Wings & Wheels is firmly established as one of the UK’s most popular and unique family days out. The show takes place over two days on the August bank holiday with an exceptional host of air and motoring entertainment unrivalled by any other show. With over 100 aircraft and 500+ vehicles participating each year, upwards of 36,000 visitors and support from the Royal Air Force and Brooklands Museum, Wings & Wheels is acknowledged as one of the UK’s premier outdoor events for the whole family.
