Forums Works / Re: Group builds
« on: April 15, 2011, 08:27:40 AM »
Hi mates,

Sorry if I answer so lately, I completely missed this thread...  :-red :-red :-red :-red :-red

For the CR42 group, september will be most reasonable for me because before that, I have to finish:

- my DH2 as soon as possible - Hope for may
- my Spad VII for the 30th of august (participating to a French forum group build) and probably for that time another biplane aircraft (Pfalz D.IIIa)

And I have to begin, for review:

- MustHave! Curtiss Mohawk 1/48
- Retrowings Skyhawk 1/144

Plus give a good end to all the kits I've begun and that are waiting on my stash...

The others GB that are interresting me amongst those cited here:

- Me 262 (I own the tiny but splendid 1/144th scale Trumpeter kit)
- Rafale M (1/144th Revell)
- Fokker D.VII (1/48th Eduard)
- Dewoitine 501 (1/48th Hi-Tech)

Other aircrafts that are interresting me for a group build:
- Albatros family (D.II to D.V)
- Roland C.II
- Saab Draken
- Saab Gripen
- some "What-if 1946"

Of course, it's OK for me the possibility to restore old kits...

That is said for the aircrafts. But why not to organize such a group build for the "Ground forces": will there be someone interrested? The first Ground Force GB could take place also in september...

Not evident to jump due to the engine position, but it was effectively a possibility given to the pilot to jump just before the explosion of the Reichenberg. The pilot have to wait until the engine shut off (out of fuel) and then there were less risks...

Congratulations for the build, mate!

...Then the parts of the cockpit were airbrushed with gloss varnish.

The leather of the cockpit is represented with a base of "Marron Brown" from Vallejo.

Time to work on the engine. See the little photoetched part under the number "1" of that euro; then see where there are placed on the engine...

Aircraft Modeling / Detail set for 1/144 Harrier
« on: April 09, 2011, 04:57:20 PM »
Retrowings is offering a very nice detailing set that is also a good idea to add realism to a tiny Harrier: a set of partially opened air intakes.

You have to know that when a Harrier is grouded, the gravity plays its rule and the air intakes are open in the upper part of the piece, but closed in the lower part...

Many of the Harriers you can see in expo don't have that detail showed.

Now it's possible to do... And I will do that...

Aircraft Modeling / Detailing set for Platz 1/144 A-4
« on: April 09, 2011, 04:52:05 PM »
Also new from Retrowings: a nice detailing set for the 1/144th scale A4 from Platz.

That set permits to realize a Blue Angels A-4 with all the real details...
