I have also interrest for the Mirage 2000, not only under egg-form...
Nice decal sheet, with interresting Brazilian decos!

BTW, I cannot use the link you give, Pompeo... So I place here the direct link to the FCM site:

I have also made holes; and after that I removed that parts with a rasor blade; simply because they will be a problem for the decals from Microsculpt. I will replace those parts after having placed the decals...

Finally I've decided not to use Karaya set of Spandaus: Eduard did an excellent job providing a "base" where you can add their grid in photoetch.
Karaya set will serve for another kit (maybe de D.VII...)

First, I rolled the grid on a toothpick. Why? For two reasons:
1) Toothpick is "solid", you have no risk to deform the grid
2) Toothpick is a little bit larger than the kit's machinegun; so it's more easy to place the grid and then you have just to gently finish to roll...

In such cases, better not to insist... ;-)

I gived also a little bath to the canopy: I put it into Klir (Future is also good, Scott). Then I removed it.

Why to do that?

1) the canopy is more clear
2) the eventuals marks made by sanding, etc, disappear
3) you can use cyano without any risk that fume will cause any damage thanks to the protection gived by Klir.

Well yes Profa, correction were needed, but with putty. For fun I could have made the rivets, but too hard work just for fun...

Anyway, sanding is made. Now the parts are ready for painting.

Well, it was REALLY NOT a good day to try to work on that DH2...

Preparing the paint for airbrushing ("Dope" = Gunze H85), my bottle of paint felt to the ground. I reacted quickly so loss of paint is not too important.
...Then, my mix of paint + thinner... Felt to the ground! A quick reaction limited the loss to half of the preparation...

Well, I decided to airbrush what remained of the mix, than to do -at least for today- other tasks than airbrushing...

Oh yes, and I have also to remove some of the PE elements, there were glued too quickly: first I will have to place cockade decals and only after, the PE...

Is that acrylic Vallejo you're using? I also find that one great for smaller corrections and hard to get places, where simple wet Q-tip solves the problem of excess putty...
For the model: :-eek :-love

Yes Profa, it's the acrylic Vallejo. As you say, simply perfect for smaller corrections. To remove the excess, I let the putty dry then I remove the excess with a toothpick...

Will you paint Mirage and Zero at the same time?

Surely for the primer; but for the other paints I don't think so because my priority remains the DH2 (will work on this last one tomorrow)
