Now THAT I understand!!!!!! I have a Dupont Variprime primer that I have used and it STINKS . Ellen threatens to throw me out to the dogs every time I even think about using that stuff, and I paint in the garage!

I must again say thanks for the sponge idea--I've used it on the last few builds and it is a great thing.

Yes, some products are really stinking...

Thank you for reply. What airbrush you use for White primer, I also have bottle but never open it. And what to use for thinner, I mean optional thinner. By the way- you have airbrush just for primers or not?

Sorry to answer so lately mate...
I use a Badger 150. Not only for primer but also for all my painting works. I have a new airbrush (Evolution) but have not really tested it actually... When I will use the Evolution, of course the Badger will be used for primer only...

OK, I've decided: I will build the aircraft of the boxart. Just because I like aircrafts with so nice eyes 

I've prepared all the pieces that will receive the interior color.I have also worked with some of the parts of the PE set for F6F-3 exterior: in fact I can use all those parts for the F6F-5; the PE set for this last one being simply more complete. But for me, the one I own is good enough 
Well, not evident to manipulate and to form some little parts; it's a nice challenge...

I have also removed some plastic of the half fuselages, to let the place to the just formed PE elements.

I finally placed the masks on the clear parts.

Ready for the airbrush...

Good point about numbers mate and about the same kit- you will enjoy the build!!!

Yes, first "dry-fitting" tests reveals that the kit will be a pleasure to build. I have the intention to try some techniques I've seen on a French forum for what concerns weathering...

I will eventually use the two following PE sets: exterior for F6F-3 (but many parts are common with the F6F-5) and the gun bay. But for this last one I have a problem: the machineguns made by Aires are needed and I don't own that set and don't have found it at Jadar or Hobbyshop...

Here is the latest release of the 1/72 Hellcat from Eduard: the F6F-5 version.

It's a really nice kit, completed with photoetched parts and masks.

At first look no important problem. I've just noted that the numerotation of the PE parts on the instruction sheet is not correct; after PE part #12 there are all decaled of one number (if Eduard indicates PE#24, you have to use PE#25 instead).

Indeed, the Verde Mimetico have to be more consequent - But as you says, it's an easy correction to do and anyway, it's an excellent work!
