I grew up where farmers used to use these great machines, but I was born too late to actually see them working. However, there were several get-togethers like this one you've posted where the steam engines were still demonstrated and they are so impressive.

These steam engines are almost alive, with each one having its own "attitude". I had a fellow who worked for me years ago that was a steam locomotive mechanic for the Santa Fe railroad when diesel was new. He said each locomotive wanted to be treated a certain way and the engineers had their favorite machines!
