The main painting is done. Next will be to let the green cure so that I can mask it for the slightly darker green on the wooden outer wings and aft fuselage.

Thanks, No.1. This color is Testors FS34127. I debated at length whether this or FS34102 was the better color. The color photos on SovietWarplanes.com make me uneasy that I've done the right thing......VVS colors are--  :-wch sometimes!!

To achieve the slightly darker green on the wooden outer wings and aft fuselage I simply did what the manufacturers did---sprayed these areas with gloss lacquer! This little project is now in final assembly:

Now to do some weathering and it'll be finished!

Actually, it is somewhat difficult to know how much weathering to give this one. The only photo I have is after it was obtained by the Germans and it's been damaged in that picture. I don't think the airplane was very old at the time, so I reckon weathering will be somewhat limited.

I've managed to finish this one up-finally....! What a pleasure this was to build, the fit was very nice and no problems, really, anywhere with assembly. If you are looking for a nice, easy build to relax with I can recommend this one.

As mentioned earlier, this machine was eventually photographed after capture by the Germans. Here it is while still in Soviet service, as it must have looked after a short time in service. Kit decals were used, and it was built strictly out-of-box:
