Trumpeter MiG-3 1/48
« on: August 30, 2014, 10:06:11 PM »
Time for me to begin this little gem, the early MiG-3 from Trumpeter. So far, the detail is very nice and I think this will be a wonderful out-of-box build for me!

Thank you.

There is nice detail throughout, actually and I think this will be relaxing to construct. The cockpit interior color is somewhat mysterious, though......

I've been through the VVS images that I can find on the web and I am down to two possibilities: the light blue/bluegreen color and a shade of grey. This is a typical Soviet early-war machine--hard to pin down an exact match from the available information. Regardless, I will press on!

I have this but can not find some images from wreck where this colors can be seen. If I can remember good, dominative interior color was green on many metal parts.

That sounds correct, and thanks for these images. I've seen some photos of the wreckage you've mentioned, I think.

Thanks!

Trumpeter made this one easy, I must say. The fit has been quite nice and it progresses quickly. With any luck I will be painting this tonight.

Blue is dry, so I sprayed the black on appropriate areas:
