Thank you, friends--I needed this encouragement when fitting the transparencies.......
Revell was left with a hard problem regarding the canopy parts. The gunner's sighting station is much wider than the fuselage sides where the canopy fastens and the aft canopy bulges outward a great amount to accommodate the side sights. The moldmakers and designers split the canopy into two sections lengthwise, one of the only options available. Well, I test-fitted the canopy numerous times and had decided I was pretty confident of the procedure to use, but when the glue was applied I struggled to get all the parts nestled into place. Once the adhesive dried it was time for putty along most of the seams, far more than I originally thought would be needed. So......after lots of sanding and filling I was finally able to apply a final coat of RLM66 on the finished enclosure. (Incidentally, I think this is the first time I ever assembled the canopy of a kit before installing the wings, but I assure you it was much easier this way!)
