End of the trip for this Mustang...
I have airbrushed Pébéo matt varnish then used pastels. Result was excellent.
Problem comes with the fitting of the AIRES cockpit detail set in the cockpit. I had tested previously and that was fine, but it was without the instrument panel in place... This one blocks the half fuselage. I had to use extremely strong cyano to glue the parts, even with that the fuselage was deformed and big problem to place the wings but also the windshield: for this one I had to try to enlarge it a little bit and that resultat in the definitive loss of transparency! More than the the instrument panel, even if in place, was not well centered and the visor was not correctly positioned!
After lot of trials, lot of cyano that masked some details, my hand smashed the kit!
No regret. One thing to note is that it's the second time I use an AIRES cockpit detail set and it's the second time I have problems with it.
For my Me 163S, I had to sand the floor to permi a good fit, but until the moment sanding was so heavy that the floo became translucid! here, bad fitting again...
I'm afarid I have on my stash other aircrafts with AIRES sets... Don't know if I will try to use it again!!!
Anyway, as I have some P-51D in reserve on my stash, I will not have any problem to finally build a Cuban Mustang. I will just wait a few time before to do that...
Oh, and anyway I've recuperated the spinner with propeller and the exhausts...
