Parts provided in FE399 set are mostly for cockpit including highly detailed instrument panel, seat belts with buckles, control panels, different switches and handles, radio as well as few exterior parts like cooler nets… Seat belts are pre-painted and highly detailed with buckles. Seating section of the seat is made of one photo etched part and looks very realistic. Pilot’s stick from kit received excellent upgrade like shooting switch, pedals got a pre-painted belts installed. Side control panels are full of details including gauges, switches and throttle control and some side wall panels with different switches off course all of these parts are pre-painted and highly detailed. Trim chains are also provided and pre-painted and once installed look great.

Instrument panel has beautifully colored instruments and switches and is highly detailed. It comes in three parts, the first one is base with few instrument displays second with instrument displays and some instruments panel exterior and third with instrument panel exterior. Some bars and handles are to be attached on instrument panel during assembly process as well as one part with instruments. This instrument panel once finished looks very realistic. Note that this instrument panel needs to be bent to a correct shape described in instruction sheet, but Eduard made it easy as places for bending are already marked on the instrument panel. Radio compartment got its front panel and wheel wells and undercarriage look’s much better with parts provided in FE399 set.

In conclusion all I can say about this set is that it worth every penny ‘cause the result you get when you install this set in your kit are excellent. Set FE399 is really easy to work with, modeler should not have any trouble. Working with these part’s will save your time and add much needed realistic look to your Yak-3.

This set is highly recommended

Darko Mladenovic I am 31 years old and live in Belgrade, Serbia. I've been modeling for about 15 years, on and off. While I'm happy to build anything, my interests lie primarily in 1/48 scale aircraft. I concentrate on WW2 subjects, although I'm also interested in WW1, early Jet Age and commercial aviation. Since my early days I have build over 150 models but also had a break for about 7 years without modeling. Before my break I was attending all the modeling contests in Serbia and won a quiet few prizes, I was also a referee on modeling competitions in Serbia. Currently I am working on my diploma at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Engineering at the University of Belgrade at the department of Air Transport and Traffic Engineering.
