Udri po grbine
« on: May 24, 2012, 05:42:30 PM »
Dear friends,

I am sure that no one of you can understand meaning of the topic name. Well- it is in Serbian hillbilly and it mean something like 'Strike over back'. What I will going to do is one combat scene from Summer 1943 where was engaged and shot down famous ace Erich Hartmann. Finished painting will be later used for the cover of the book.

Hartmann was shot down over the Russian front and captured by Russian soldiers. He managed to escape and finally reached the German front. It is quite a story; see book written by Toliver and Constable 'Hold Hartmann vom Himmel'. Motorbuch Verlag 1972 (8th printing)

I am sure this book is excellent source of info and also beat some myth about the air claims won by Hartmann. I have just completed study and get final position of airplanes, more dynamics :))
