Title: Staaken R.XIVa

The Staaken R.XIVa was the last R-plane type that was built by Zeppelin-Werke G.m.b.H at Staaken in Berlin. As well a very little is know and available about this plane this subject is very challenging. here is basic settings of the drawings.

Just to show few details which present lozenge scheme over the airplane. It look like the wings does not have this pattern and not all fuselage surfaces have this type of covering. Photo credit: Filmdokumentationszentrum - Filmarchiv Austria

Was this the 5 engine plane with 250 h.p. Maybach motors?

The R.XIVa was a 5-engined version, one engine in the nose and two each in gondolas in a tractor – pusher configuration. The engines were 245 hp Maybach Mb.IVa’s.

I try to make position of the five color lozenge but it is not easy at all. Most problem coming how to overlap strip of fabric over the fuselage.

Thank you for your encouraging words- this mean to me. Few more steps and must say that every step is far from easy. Images are dull and blur, small and very rare. This morning i spent in finding the basic panels and fuel tank and engine shape. This is just basic and I think there will be huge improvements.

Are You sure that pattern is not same (that it doesn't continue on) on the fuselage on the first photo You posted? :-think To me it looks like the light reflection from fuselage just lightened the film more, so it is to light to recognise the pattern (overexposed in that area). I think pattern is going over - I mean there is no firm evidence that something else is on the fuselage.
And the pattern on the drawing itself looks like it is cut in the middle (in a vertical sense) all along fuselage. Are You sure that is the whole pattern? :-think.
We should all try to find more photos of this aircraft if they exist.
Anyhow, this is not an easy job You intend to do.
What is happening, You turned on WWI airplanes for a moment? :-think :) :-wave

Not from the same airplane- sample which will be made have no lozenge on first part.
