Excellent profile No.1, very nice smooth lines

PR IX that served with numbers 540 & 541 squadron at RAF Benson.
On the 9th Feb 1944 Flt Lt P Riches and Flying Officer M O Slonski were on a trials flight to the test engines after a major renovation. For unknown reasons, the aircraft crashed  into Aran Fawddwy Mountain near Dolgellau in Wales and both crew were killed.

The photo showns what is reported as LR412 in flight, the other is taken from the memorial site for the aircraft.
