I also did not find info, not even register letters or serials of his final plane.

Major Bong was killed on a factory/USAAF acceptance flight. The airplane was P-80A 44-85048, and I would suppose it was in the light grey paint scheme common to the very early P-80s.

Thank you for info :) Before of this fatal accident he have as I know four hours flying on P- 80 but also no info about.

Basic layout development is very close to complete. From this will be developed A, B and C models

Thank you ;) The very first sample is from first manufacturer batch and in order to achieve maximum performance this machine was high polished and waxed :))

Very cool! My fatrher saw a lot of P-80s when he was with the army during the Korean War. He
witnessed a pilto eject from one before it exploded.
