I dug through my files and found the photos of the Sabre (F-86F 52-4689) I was going to restore. This airplane flew for a short time in U.S. service, then for a number of years in Venezuela, and for many years in Bolivian service. This little jet was one of the last Sabres in front-line service, being retired by the Bolivian Air Force in the early 1990s.

I have plans to build a 1/48 version of this machine someday. When I was in charge of the 1/1 scale project I was going to try to convince the museum staff to restore this paint scheme since the airplane spent most of its life in Bolivia. I've moved on and their plan is to strip the paint and go to NMF/USAF scheme instead.
