This sample I have start long time ago and today I decide to try to work on it when ever I can. Hope that this base will be finished next week and will be start of the series of color profiles. off course basic idea is to make web site article and I have already a lot of info about the service of this airplane. But any more info is welcome  :-wave

The Nieuport 16 was essentially a Nieuport 11 airframe powered by the Le Rhone 9J 110 hp (82 kW) engine. Visible differences included a pilot headrest fairing and larger aperture in front of the "horse shoe" cowling. Later versions had a deck-mounted synchronized Vickers gun, but in this configuration the combined effect of the heavier 9J engine and the heavier Vickers gun compromised the maneuverability and made the craft decidedly nose-heavy. This disadvantage was remedied in the next variant, the slightly larger Nieuport 17 C1.

Nice small text and you have correct me- I will make both XI and XVI. And who know, maybe XXI too. Very nice small airplane and maybe first one to be made would be Russian sample and very first could be Russian ace Ivan Smirnov. Not sure... will see ;)

Modelers and illustrators have many things in common and one of them is unfinished projects. As well I did all as orders, not so many of them is in my PC but I find this one yesterday, Nieuport XI. Just see date when this subject started and you will know all. Started, priority order come, subject abandoned. And this mroning I start to work on it, actually try to continue and abort it.

I actually did not abort main subject but original file started years ago. It was organized in old way and the in the meantime I have evolution and in this I manage to create layers of illustrator in far superior way, which allow excellent control over subject, less work time, more details and options possible. So I drop old file, relocate it in another folder with old files and start new one, from scratch.

To regret, my knowledge about this plane was far better in past. For excample, paint of fabris, it could be pale blue as well cream and in regards to this differ band which is used over edge of fuselage. of course, later was used also camouflaged samples. So alongisde with this illustration, I will dig out all of my notes and try to find precise data.
