:-clap :-clap :-clap
-
thank you No.1 :)
a new one... is one He162A-2 - flown by Oblt. Emil Demuth Staffelkapitan III / JG.1 Leck May 1945
-
Very Nice profiles
But your RLM81 is too much red look at real RLM81 applied on a restored He 162 (the colour hue is confirmed and correct) .
Eric
-
Another note I forgot yesterday
Do not represent rivets on the fuselage , there are NO visible rivets , all of them are covered with putty . You can represent the putty line in shadow.highlught , but that is all . I notice it on all He 162 I was able to see (photos or restored machines )
All the best
Eric
-
thank you Larger for your comments and suggestion :)
about the color RLM 81 I use one reference color card with RGB code, I can check with others reference cards ;)
about the rivets... :-think I used many He162's walkaround photos reference and books... I could see the rivets on the fusolage and engine navicelle...
best regard
santino :-wave
-
Hello
I spend a lot of time studying the He 162 , this will be , probably, a new book project in the near future.
For the rivets .
It depends of the manufacturer , what is visible is the putty lines throught the thin layer of paint . The team which restored the He 162 in Paris confirmed it to me putty on Rostock built He 162 (batch 120...) was found everywhere on the fuselage to seal all what can be sealed .
On the other hand the rivets are visible on the engine cowling , I agree with you . I saw them .
On the tail plane (another sub-assembly ) , the rivets are sealed with a sort of tape , I can see it clearly .
In any way the drawing you made is nice .
On He 162 , the stencils are funny , some are hand painted some painted with a template .
Please find 2 new pictures I own .
-
great info Larger :-ok :))
thank you for the photos :)
is possible for you make one walkaround photo gallery about the he-162 in paris?
:-help I need info about stencil position and text and other detail for make more real update on my color profile...
:-help I search info on the Revi 16B or D mounted on that aircraft too...
I made a preview of the gunsight...
any help are welcome
thank you in advance
Santino
-
Hello
I do not have time to resize all pictures at work .
Contact me off board please it will be easier for me . elarger@infonie.fr

Here you are my gun sight from Bf109 and you can convert it.
-
thank you Srecko :)
I have already made all the REVI 16B with polar lens too...
I need more detail for make the gunsght in the right and left side... ;) :-wave
-
I try to make the RLM81 less red... just a experiment...
-
It look better now. Did I give you my RGB value for this color?
-
no you don't :(
if you can send me alternative RGB refence for the RLM color I will be very happy ;) :-wave
-
RLM 81 is 70 56 33
RLM 76 is 172 199 197
-
Hello
The fuselage except the mobile tail unit is not rlm 76 but Grey-green late war colour
Eric
-
in all the books I have about He162 are told that the fusolage and all the lower surfices are panted RLM76 sometime RLM65 for the wood part like the undercarriage door...
:-think I think It is possible some aircraft have other type of color... (last mount of war there was confusion)
I don't know if the roule about the Paris's He162 can be used for all the He162 :-think
-
He162 is late war machine and as I know Eric is experted the field of late war fighter camouflage. I can not find and I know that I have somewhere image of the wing of He162 with splinter camouflage.
-
can be interesting see that photos No.1 ;)
the problem is what I have to do now? :-think
I don't have instrument for say wich color scheme is correct or not... I have only books reference...
meybe I can post the question on Luftwaffe Experten Message Board and see what they answer...
-
I just found three different reference for the RLM76
1) RLM76 Lichtblau (light-blue)
2) RLM76 Graugrün (grey-green)
3) RLM76 Graublau (grey-blue)
meybe Eric talk about this color RLM76 Graugrün (grey-green)?
I attach the color sample
-
This color green grey is not camouflage color but basic industrial protective color.
-
I found only the RLM02 Grau and the RLM99 grün about primer color
if is possible could you please send me the correct reference color for undestand correctly what do you want to mean
-
http://www.letletlet-warplanes.com/forum/index.php?topic=792.0
-
I take the color from your interesting photo
this is the result...
now I try to change the RLM76 with your RLM84 on the He162...
-
Yes!!!!! But lets wait for Eric :)
-
just finish the new update....
-
Hope that it is historically more accurate now ;)
-
I never see the He162 11 "yellow" with this color... :-think
I'm not sure about now is it more historical accurate...
-
Dear all
here is a way to compare the both colour under the tail plane the RLM76 , under "15" the green_grey colour.
This later colour is seen on Fw 190D-9 , He 162 , He 219 , Fw 190A-8 and Bf 109G .
I compare two wrecks of Fw 190D-9 , with this colour reproduce on He 162 and they are the same .
RLM65 , is see here on W.Nr 120015 UNDER the WINGS . It is a separate sub-assembly . The tail unit is RLM81/82/76 , the wings are RLM70/65 , the Fuselage is RLM81 /Green-Blue, RLM81 the engine is one side RLM81 other side in RLM82 ....
The landing gear doors are not in RLM65 , one is coming from W.Nr 120087 all are in Green-Grey
Eric
-
Excellent info and image!!! Thank you Eric- you are very kind :-ok
-
thank you Eric for the interesting info :)
another question is
what color I have to use about the undeside wing the RLM76 or the green_grey colour?
the green_grey colour is like the RLM84 No.1's photo?
-
My image show a little bit darker color, maybe caused by time.... so better refer to the Eric ;)
-
thank you Srecko :)
-
I just finish to update the profile...
-
Hello
One precision I forget to mention to you .
In Paris the engine cover are painted in 2 colours , right side RLM82 (bright green) , left side RLM81 .
The antenna fairing above the engine cowling is unpainted ( a gloss dark red brown bakelite piece) .
The interior of rear of the engine cowling and well as the mobile jet exhaust is while (ceramic paint to resist to high temperature) , the annunal air intake of the engine is either RLM02 (like in paris or camouflage paint ) .
Eric
-
thank you so much for this interesting info and the new photo :-tri
I updated the green_grey color after having seen this new photo
-

-
I like this one :) maybe it is moment to take out scale model from spare box ;)
-
thank you No.1 :))
Do you think this time the green_grey colour looking like the color in the Eric photo? :-wave
-
Most important is the impression, no need to match the original photo. And you give very good impression :)
-
thank you for your kindness :-red :)) :-wave
-

Very nice , the last change will be the metal part over the tactical number 21 , not in rlm70 but in rlm82(bright green) . The wheels are in RLM02
the left main lanfding gear in rlm76 the other one in rlm66.
-
Santino- are you making profiles or history :-razz :-clap
-
the metal part was already in rlm82... now I change it with RLM62

Hey- it have this three badges on fuselage?
Yep :-green see this photo... ;)
very interesting images Eric thank you so much :) :-wave
-
:-eek :-clap :-clap
-
This machine W.Nr 310003 , was sent to France .
It was one of the few A-1 sub-typ with MK108 30 mm canons .
It was never flown by French airforce , on contrary to W.Nr 120015, 120083, 120223 .
It is clear that the insignias were painted during the time the unit waited for Allied troops to reach Leck . We have 2 wartime photos of W.Nr 120015 , taken at Ludwigslust , without insignias . The arrows on the other hand where apllied when the unit flew in operation.
