Dear friends,
I am sure this will be great subject!!!!
-
Nickname of the Corsair II was SLUF, or Short Littl' Ugly Feller!
-
Hahaha :-ok
-
Only, the "feller" was another name we won't use in polite company....... :-eek :-danger
This will be a good series!!!!
-
Never hear fro 'feller', what does it mean?
-
"Feller" is a kind of hillbilly way of saying "fellow". It is used a lot in the southern parts of the U.S. as slang, also some folks have always said it that way.
A guy who used to work with me was a crew chief on the SLUF during the later part of the Vietnam war and he's the first person who told me what the F really meant to them.......same thing with the B-52--Big Ugly Fat F_____....... No respect!
-
Wait- you know real person work on A-7? Can you help me with contact, I work on article :))
-
I don't think he works for us anymore but I will surely look for him in our database today. I'm afraid he's retired and was something of a recluse when not at work. But, maybe I'll find him, and I know he'd like to talk about his time with the A-7.
-
Most important is that he is alive!!!
-
