I can still remember the Redbull P-38 'purring' by at Lelystad Airport this summer during a display day. It is a very particular sound those both Allison's are maeking than is quite different from that loud noise of a Merlin! Also at Duxford some months ago difference in sound between Allison and Merlin P-40 was very remarkable!!
-
Hi Nico,
Purring, that's a very good way of describing that sound. It were very calm running engines, maybe because of the long exhaust stack less noisy?
This profile is for the "Wachters" book, by the way :-)
-
"Wachters" ;)
-
Very nice profils!! :-ok
-
Thank you mate ;)
-
I`d love to see the JRV I PVO p-38 lightning :P
-
Ha ha.... just last night watch at various images and see one operational with Yugoslav stars :))
-
Nice bird...
-
I started entirely new layout for next generation of color profiles, with better layer arrangement.
-
:-ok
-
One of my favourite WWII plane. I was suprised how big it is.
-
I see the fuselage in Museum in Belgrade long time ago and was impressed with quality construction ;)
-
Work continued on boom and wing section :)
-
:-ok
-
More update, still far from complete
-
Splendid!!!
-
Thank you :))
-
:-ok
-
:-ok
-
Another update :))
-
Look nice! :-clap
-
Bomber nose :))
-
:-ok
-
And one Droop Snoot :))
-
The Droop-Snoot conversion is really interesting, but I wouldn't want to be the bombardier crammed in there! On the other hand, the round trip would be faster than in a bomber.....
-
Great,great job!!! :-clap :-clap
-
P-38 had other interesting versions like photo reconnaissance plane and night fighter........
-
Thank you friends :-ok With good layout arrangement, I can do now any version with easy!
-
Just like the old Monogram 1/48 kit--many options easily available!
-
:-ok
-
I like Monogram, this is for me great manufacturer :-ok
-
Their old 1/48 P-38 gave options for a night fighter, droop-snoot, reconnaisance, and fighter/fighter bomber. It may not be the most highly detailed kit ever, but it did give lots of building choices.
-
Works I forget to display before ;)
