Yes, Douglas sold several DC-3 passenger versions to the Soviet Union. Notice that No.1's profile and the camouflaged airplane Nico photographed at Monino both have the aft passenger door on the right side of the fuselage. The DC-3 that Lisunov used as a pattern machine was originally built for either American Airlines (or one of a couple other airlines) that required the passenger door on the right. Most DC-3s and all C-47/C-53s had the door on the left.
Does anyone know if any Li-2s are still airworthy? I seem to remember reading that none are currently capable of flight.
