Last manufactured Hurricane was used as racer after the war :))
-
Looks great any info about the type? :-clap
-
It's Hurricane Mk.IIc, PZ865 known as 'The Last of the Many", as flown by Gp. Capt. Peter Townsend in the National Air Race 1951.
He flew it also in the N.A.R a year before, when the A/C was marked by white number '41' in black circle (instead of '99'), painted on the vertical stabiliser.
There's a lot of info on this particular type of Hurri here: http://www.rogerdarlington.co.uk/Hurricane.html
