Title: Junkers Ju 87
Post by: No.1 on May 08, 2010, 12:04:42 PM
Hi,

start work on one of the most sinister plane in the early days of WW2, Junkers Ju 87 and my very start will be with model A, which have nickname Stupido (  :-smey :-smey) in Spain.

 :-ok

Looks like one of the early prototypes fitted with trousers. Hope you are aware that 1st prototype had twin vertical fins.
Would also be interesting to make profile of machine captured by RAF!

This will be A-1 or A-2 but as I know RAF has captured later model. By the way- why is the twin vertical tail discarded? Flutter vibrations or something else?

Here you are another progress in profile work.

Yes, twin fin caused tail flutter and 1st prototype crashed because of this!
Tail unit was completely redesigned.
Ju-87V1 was powered by a 640 hp R.R. Kestrel engine driving a two-bladed propeller and it was fitted witout the later wing dive brakes.
