Preparation for the long series of work...
-
Although I prefer its older cousin, Barracuda, this one also has its "shmek" (there's no translation, the closest one would be "feeling" or "looks").
C'mon, lets see it :-jump :-love
-
Nice bird... :-flo
-
Ah! one of my favourites! I'm looking forward to those nice Dutch variants! :-ok
-
Thanks to Nice I have some excellent images and they will be included too!
-
I have a really awesome one of Dutch Firefly's on Biak (New Guinea) - I will need to hunt it down in my crypts of chaos! :-wall
-
Just take your time mate :-ok
-
Ha, I already found it, my system works :-jump
Now I need to scan it!
-
You are so fast :-clap
-
What a coincidence...! :)) This is the book I am working on and I am really looking forward to seeing Srecko's work on this!!
There will be three profiles of Dutch machines:
FR.1 - 11-20, 860Sqn, RNNAS, Soerabaya, 1949
(http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r214/Paul_Bradley/firefly/33-SMALL.jpg)
T.1 - 11-12
(http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r214/Paul_Bradley/firefly/34-SMALL.jpg)
FR.4 - 008/B, 7Sqn RNNAS, Biak, 1957
But as he hasn't started on them yet, I am open to other suggestions! My only stipulation is that, if possible, there isn't another profile published in another book - I would like to have different profiles where possible.
-
Paul- no coincidence here, this topic is dedicated to your book but did not mention that as well I am not authorized to do that. And as well this is very first time to work on Firefly, all you see here will be for your book :))
-
So- basic shapes are created...
-
Nice! The Mk.4/5 is my personal favourite of all the Marks.
-
I also like it, it is more streamlined but also it can be later converted into the early version
-
Nice progress so far... :-flo
-
I have to do them again. Panel lines are too thick :-wall
-
It is better now

Wonderful images :-ok What grey color is on the underside?
It appears to me that it is the same color as what is on the side of the fuselage, not certain on
that however.

-
Mk. I early is almost complete, but there is stick under the plane, any idea about this?
Could it be the antenna from a sonobuoy reciever? I found this text:
"A sonobuoy receiver rod antenna projected downward from the bottom of the starboard stub plane. The sonobuoy receiver was located in the shelving aft of the Observer's seat, which swivelled to permit operation of the AN/APS-4 equipment (still positioned forward of the seat) or the sonobuoy receiver."

Lauhof
-
Could be... :) Thank you for link :-ok
-
If that photo is of an F.1, then it isn't a sonobuoy aerial, as the F.1 didn't use sonobuoys. I have searched through the AP but find no mention of it, but I think it may be the early position for the IFF aerial.
-
All right Paul. Now here you are prototype profile.
