May be I am wrong, but shouldn't the tail number on the last one be 60016 instead of 60018 (because you have 0016 at the and of the file name) :-think

F-111 was an impressive and LARGE machine. Although it was useless as a fighter; it was an excellent bomber!
Time for a photo update!! I have set all images at 1000 pixels wide to give a full screen.
-
I like this machine, very interesting one :) Thank you for image update ;)

Love the tiger tail FB-111A. From the 509th BW Pease AFB. A bit of urban legend about this. There was a chain of local auto parts stores here in New Hampshire, Robbins Auto Parts, my father worked for them many years in the Dover store. Anyway, they had a store in Portsmouth, a few miles from Pease and supposedly the paint department there mixed the paint for that tail, several gallons of Dupont School Bus Yellow so the tail could be painted before the jet went to Tiger Meet. Is it true???? I don't know, but that is the story I had been told.

I can thrust this story as well similar happen here many years ago. During the maintenance of the T-55 tank, some parts are missing and captain from the unit, seat in his car, drove to town and buy parts in car shop. Parts was for Zaporozac car but perfectly fit into the tank.
-
Yes, if the parts fit and work it is good :-ok :-ok :))
