I was very young when I have first time seen this aircraft, that was one old book in grey hard cover WW2, Yugoslav publication, and inside was image with caption 'low level Havoc', I have a lot of interest in this very nice designed medium bomber. Once I have kit of this plane but who know what happen with that one. Now I start work on color profile of this great aircraft, at least I like it.

Yes, the Havoc/Boston/A-20 is a great subject. You won't run out of paint schemes for the profiles either!
The A-20 series was one of my father's favorites since he would see them fly over at low-level in the Tunisian desert and know they were on his side of the conflict. He always called them the "Boston Bomber" regardless of which air force was flying them.

I guess that was great view and no need to mention relaxing of the troops who have them on support. I did not search much but this machine did have several operators as well various patterns.

Some close up details :))

I can recommend Scott Thomson's book 'Dougals Havoc and Boston' from Crowford aviation series. Found it two weeks ago for discount price and it is a fantastic buy!
RAF named it Boston and RAF had very interesting versions including one with a big searchlight in the nose for night fighting.
Attached two interesting shots. I have a large size image of that nice color photo, so if anyone is interested just contact me!

So nice work! :-clap

I'm very partial to the early French DB-7s also. The French and Belgian orders really kicked off the long production run of this machine. So many variants!
No.1, I'll make sure that "Hemiman" from WIX comes here to see this--his father flew on the A-20s of the 8th Attack Squadron out in the Pacific.
-
Thanks friends :)) Scott- I will do French sample (this is actually order...) but the later one. Will find some images of this machine and start separate topic for all of us here. Nice about Hemiman, is he member here?
-
Hmmm...I know Hemiman has visited but he doesn't build models. I'll talk to him next week as we often work in the same area of the hangar.
