I just start one new project the Dewoitine D520  :-green

I wanna make some french and some italian aircraft... :-crazy

D.520 is a very interesting plane!
It flew not only in Luftwaffe markings, but also in very colourful markings of the 'Free French' Vichy air force!

A picture I made in 1985 at the La-Ferté-Alais airshow and two pages with b&w profiles from a leaflet of an old 1/48 Gull Wing  vacform kit I ever built many years ago.

Beautiful drawings - well done. The D 520 is one of my favourite aircraft (did anyone see my feature article on the D 520 in the September 2004 'Scale Aircraft Modelling' - probably not, no one ever reads my articles!). I also helped out with the Mushroom book on the D 520 but received no credit from the publisher. Nevertheless I still like the D 520 . . .

Hi all 

I just finish one new D520 the N°277 with the markings worn in Syria, this aircraft was destroyed in air combat with RAF Gladiator at 15 jun 1941

I think that first one will be the German sample and later continue on Italian planes as well French origin. But before of this here it is one document  of one combat against B-17 in July 1943.

If the document can be redeable I can traslate what the report say...

today I make one new D520 flown by Regia Aeronautica Italiana (Royal Itailan Airforce) is One D520 of 164^a Squadriglia 161° Gruppo at Regio Calabria during september 1943

This print screen show how many of difference have on all technical drawings of the Dewoitine D. 520 which are available. I have check many of images from publications and note a number of new panels and access door's. Also there is options with differnet front cowling etc., etc.,... I would very happy if any of you could post here some very sharp scans of images of this plane as well some additional work have to be made for the basically corect profile.

I have the same problem when I begun to work on this aircraft, I check a lot of drawing, color profile and a lot of photo, I try to make something more similar possible to the true airplane...  :-think

Good- take more attention on the gradient shade under the wing, wing sleve and the leading edges. This give life to the plane :)
