Hi,
this is conversion layout from the previous work on model 750.
:-wave
-
This looks like the export version with Wright Cyclone with short nose as used in the Netherlands East Indies.
USAAC P-36 machines had longer nose with P&W Twin Wasp engine.
-
This is version for Iran, captured samples has used by UK as Mohawk IV.
-
very interesting subject No.1 :-clap :-wave
-
Thank you :) Image could be doubtful so I can not be sure about the colors on fuselage ;)
-
Now time to develop more of the P-36 versions, we will need them for our magazine :))
-
Yea,we started preparation for magazine! :-tri
I didn't see this topic before.I like Iranian sample!Very nice color in that camouflage! :-love
-
I would very much like to build that Iranian marked airplane someday. If we can ever confirm the fuselage striping (I would bet your profile is correct) I'm in for that one!
I've always had in the back of my mind to build one of the fixed-gear Hawks that the Chinese Nationalists purchased.
A very interesting aircraft type operated by many nations!
-
wow :-eek very nice color profile No.1 :-ok :-clap :-wave
-
Thank you for comments friends :-razz Here you are another profile and one image. Image show sample which possibly have China Nationalist insignia. Any idea?
-
A wonderful new topic of profils! Very good! :-love
-
That's definitely Chinese... :-ok
My aim was always to build a colourful example in "confusion or distortion" cammo scheme from 27th pursuit squadron, although French samples are interesting as well...
There's a nice photo of demonstrator A-5 for China, and also the iranian A-9 sample, in the book Wydawnictwo Militaria n°103 - Curtiss 75 Hawk vol.1
-
You will see all of this schemes here :))

Portugal received from the UK a small number of Hawks (called Mohawks by the British) as thanks for using their harbours and airports by the UK. There still was a regular airline between Lisboa and Croydon during the war!
Also merchand and passenger ships had regular routes from UK to Portugal and back.
It was not without risk. Some ships were torpedoed by U-boats and some civil aircraft were shot down or damaged by German fighters.
-
Thanks for info mate ;) And here you are La Fayette machine :))
-
This plane have very exotic camouflages!I like your work at all.Bravo! :-clap
-
Thank you ;) To regret in many cases only one side is known so not options to deliver all sides for modelers need :(
-
British sample. I am not sure about the letters colors, any idea?
-
The tone on the codes and fin flash red stripe certainly look the same. I wondered about the darker grey they used on some airplanes, but I lean toward red as you've painted it.
-
In one period they used mixed grey but later was replaced in most cases with medium grey, used at bottom.
-
look very nice :-ok :-clap :-wave
-
Thank you :)
-
Excellent work as always mate!
-
Thank you :)) next to come is Dutch version ;)
-
Dutch natural metal sample
-
Looks great.I like it!! :)
-
WOW!! :-cool
-
Like it too!
-
Thank you friends ;) if you see any issues on profiles, please let me know
-
I have been thinking about building a fixed-gear Hawk in Chinese markings but now I might be leaning toward this Dutch machine! :-love What would everyone think of a P-36/Hawk Group Build later this year?
-
I would like, just to get any kit of this machine
-
As I have to build the MustHave! Mohawk, I'm interrested but it should be not too late in the year... Or I can also build my "Belgian what-if"...
-
Do we yet have a subject for June or July GBs? We could schedule the Mohawk for then so you could get the MustHave! kit done, or you could do it on a separate thread if need be.
Scott
-
June or jult would be great... Hope to finish lot of my "in progress" models until there...
-
Dutch camouflaged sample... note that it have two colors but due the fading and paint over you have impression of few different colors used
-
Very nice!
-
Good job,as always.
-
Thank you friends :-flo And this is most successful Hawk, with over 18 victories :-clap
-
I like the finnish one! But wasn't it camoflaged with green and black?
-
You are right- later it have this camouflage with black fields :)
-
Very very good stuff!! :-salut
-
Thank you mate ;) Now I have problem- what is inscription on the tail? I guess that overall color is RLM 02 Grau?
-
The first word under the swastika sort of looks to be "Curtiss" but I can't make sense of the rest.
-
Thank you mate... hope we will found out what this could be as well few profiles left to be made.
-
Could the second word be an abbreviation for Habicht? Also the two figures just below what may say "Curtiss" look somewhat like "75" which would also make sense. I'll look through all of my Curtiss photos (I just happened to find some material yesterday) to see if I can offer a more educated opinion on this.
-
South African...
-
Yeah...New turn! :-jump
Btw...Looks great,as all profiles in this topic! ;) :-clap :-clap :-clap
-
nice :-ok :-wave
-
Splendid!
-
Excellent subject matter, as always. It's crazy how many nations flew this little fighter.
I'm reshaping the Wright-equipped cowling ring for the 1/48 Hobbycraft kit in preparation for our GB later this spring. Keep the great profiles coming!
-
Thank you and pity that this info come late for our magazine :(
-
Excellent work here! :-ok
-
Thank you ;)
-
Hope that you've already got rightful info on http://www.letletlet-warplanes.com/forum/vazduhoplovna-umetnost-warplane-art/curtiss-hawk-75/msg12338/#msg12338. If not, PM me ;)

One of the most underexposed fighters of WW2. Looking good, though a little too speckly too my taste.
-
I know it is too speckly but it look good in print ;)
