"the Chinook's were obviously painted in the UK Desert Pink scheme and most likely black undersides, but when I saw ZA707 EV at RAF Mildenhall the ' mottled ' paint on the fuselage sides i'm pretty sure was a very and I mean VERY dark green almost black ( one of those things you make a mental note of at the time ). This "mottle" was applied with ordinary paint brushes and looked very hap-hazard.
My photo ( at Mildenhall ) was taken from the port side and the crew door was open and had no door gun fitted and no gun mounted on the rear door.
Although at other times I have seen miniguns fitted to the front window ( starb. side ) cannot remember if i've seen one on the door, as for the ramp I have seen GPMG's in this location on a couple of times."
