Something so big and legendary :-razz
-
They used to fly over our house on a refueling track with a KC-135 nearly every day in the 1960s...….
-
Just can imagine this nice scene :-razz I did on illustration many panels and it is time for rivets. To make em as much as possible precise, I use frame diagram.
-
Don't forget the wrinkles near the wing root! Your attention to detail is breathtaking!!!
-
Thank you mate :)) wing root is interesting as there is variations.
-
good and precise as always
-
Thanks :)) work with subject need really care, just have a look on this detail of auxiliary air intake, where was two small in early production and later modified into one big. To endure long service, machine was on constant maintenance and upgrades and to make precise sample, not only illustration but also kit, need deep focus and detail analyzes. And this is still G model, initiall configuration ;)

Thank you mate :)) wing root is interesting as there is variations.
Yes, every airplane wrinkles just a little differently in that area. What most people who fly don't know is that some Boeing jetliners also have these wrinkles on them, just not as pronounced as the B-52. Our airplanes used to be in NMF and the wrinkles were easy to see after a fresh buffing job, especially behind the wing on the 757.

This will be most interesting part of illustrating once when come time. For now a huge work in development basic layout. Definitely, many details changed since first appearance of G model. Second image show one of source to count rivets :-wall
-
Good photo of the way the BUFF was built. I think that bunch of raised-head rivets is an area that was modified over the years and countersunk rivets eliminated to strengthen the structure. The B-52 has always been worked hard and structure suffered when they were used at low-level.

Most of shades done but still remains some to do.
-
nice progress mate !
-
Thanks :)) a lot of work and just few details to be noticable
-
good !
-
Really excellent, mate!
-
Thanks :))
-
Details and shadows are completed (maybe), now tricky part, markings
-
very good !
-
Basic development completed, tomorrow will make scans of some paint samples from FS and hope first color profile will be made.
-
It's a beauty! As to color schemes, you have a LOT of choices to work from!!!
-
Thanks :)) For schemes, there is two basic camouflage and the rest is just unit variations. Not easy to find many photos of the very early G model.
-
:)) :)) :))

Yay, Second Air Force!!! And this airplane was stationed not far from where we live down at Barksdale AFB. In fact, it's still there, I think--but it was later renamed.
-
Aha, I guess you will ike Second Air Force machine ;)
-
superb mate !
-
Thanks :))

Hello all,
Hello mate, :-salut
Very good work. I was lucky enough to see and touch one really at Istres at the end of the 1990s.
The one I have built in 1/72 is of the same unit but is named "Orlando where the action is".
:-wave

Thank you for kind words and you are lucky to see this legendary machine :)
