Wood, wash, drybrush, poor photo.

Everything is handbrushed.  I use Citadel and Andrea paints. From Citadel I also use washes, a relatively interesting product with better results when compared to the oil washes or paints and with the simpler, faster and cleaner work. Moreover, it does not smile. Work with these acrylics washes it's a little different comparing with oil paints. It's better for interiors, engine, undercariage wells etc. It is not a surface wash. From the Citadel range I have tried drybrush paint too, but except silver I do not have the best experience with them. Or I have not learned yet.

Massive production started. Next three will be Ni.17 No. 4214 and Ni.17 or 23 (or mix of both) No. 3598 in both versions. This one was only one airplane with rotary engine used by Czechoslovak Air Force.

Plus attached image of marking for 1940.

As a test build for new decal set I started build of 4 Nieuports 17/21/23 from Eduard kit. I use Overtrees and "tickets" kits with PE sets. Unfortunately only few pieces from PE set is usable for this build.

First I started Ni.21 Ser.No. 1940 used by Czechoslovak legions in Russia at 1918. I tried to use internal structure from PE set, but it's a lot of work without significant effect.
Built is fast, kit fit well.

It will be great if you look for it. I working on decals for B-33 now and this is interesting if it's true.

More machines  :))

Hi, Do you have any photo of czechoslovak machine with red number 3? It's a very curious marking.

And FYI, Czechoslovak national insignias had a white outline, not blue and lower wing insignias on some machines were too small.

Quick built, strictly out of box (except correct antenna and few small improvements).
This is a test bed for decals from my new decal printer.

Kit is nice, fits very well. Almost without putty. I added some details like a lights and few details to prop.

Paints are Tamiya XF-16 silver and mix of alcohol based Agama paints for grey and DayGlo.

Started a new kits yesterday. Two ones from Eduard Quatro Combo kit. Very nice kit, fit is perfect, especially for so small kit.

Here you are.

Here is a weekend progress after a long delay (massive flu stopped all my activities for two weeks). Airbrushing is my nightmare. I have good airbrush, usable air compressor and a pair of totally unusable hands. But basic camo is done, some retouches are needed.

I did clean it up under water and final cleaning was with alcohol. I did not use surfaces as well it is on very end... :( All right, wil rest a bit and then will back to build.

Alcohol don't remove oil well. Medical benzine is better, but quality wash detergent is enough. And surfacer for russian kits is necessary. Their plastic is "little" different. Probably cheap or recycled, paints don't adhere well on it.

Bad news, but nothing critical. Bottle of Purisol and everything is right.
Kit is russian standard. They use a lot of oil for mould maintenance. You must clean up russian kits in a good dishwashing detergent before painting, or better before first cut to sprues. And coat of surfacer is a big help too.
