I voted for the Alpha Jet because I think that is a cool plane, and aside from the PJ kit there are not any decent kits of this in 48th scale!

A perfect example also is the commanders hatch, you can see the darkened areas where the GI has his hands and the areas correspond to his range of motion. Very cool!

It does look as if it has a good accumulation of dust built up around the surfaces of the hull, fenders and turret roof. One of the best ways to probably go about replicating this is too use pigments and as in the photo use a brush to sweep them around the surface and allow them to accumulate around the raised details of the hull.

Miscellaneous Subjects / Russian Borei Class SSBN

This is the Riich Models 1/700 scale Borei Class SSBN, the latest class of missile subs in the Russian Navy. The kit is very nice, and the first one I have seen from this company. I finally finished it over the long weekend we just had. The water is made from artists modeling paste and painted with inexpensive craft paint. I used two blue / gray colors for the base and mixed in some turquoise and light green. The colors were all applied wet on top of each other so they could be blended. I also added some Tom's Model Works 1/700 scale figures to the deck and bridge.

This was a really fun kit and came out pretty decent without alot of work, which was a nice change of pace!

That method of spacing the blades like that also works great for cutting strips of masking tape to mask off waterlines, cheat lines on airliners and stripes. I had forgotten about that until Scott posted his tip.

Flap detail looks great! Tedious, but will be very much worth it in the end.
