This is work of our new member. PDF version was available for download but removed after couple of days during the regular maintenance.

Where should I be watching for the download link? I seem to miss it. I will make sure and subscribe to that thread!

Is there a PDF of volume 8? I like to keep those on my Nook Color for reading! :)

Thanks everyone!

Very nice, and good to see yours on the wheels as opposed to floats.

Thanks! I noticed all the builds I'd seen online were on floats, so I figured it would be kinda different to do wheels. I may have to do one with floats one day though!  :)

Thanks!

It's actually a homemade mix of Tamiya yellow-green and flat black. Sort of a shortcut to ZC Green. I had some of the Model Master Acryl paint for that color, but it is way to bright to my eye. I didn't try to be real precise about it, LOL! :)

Aircraft Modeling / More Monogram fun- 1/48 OS2U Kingfisher

I'd forgotten to share my photos of the re-issued Kingfisher kit I finished in the last week or so. It's built in the markings of an Alaska-based Kingfisher from '43-'44. Good little kit, built out of the box.

If you build it it, two things to be careful of...

- When you close the fuselage halves up, be sure the wings are perpendicular to the fuselage. There is a little play in them, and they can be off a bit.

- If you build the land-plane version, glue the main gear parts on first, making sure they are even in all axis's, and let them dry. After that, work the central support struts in and adjust them as needed.

Failing to heed these will result in a Kingfisher like I have built.... crooked wings and it leans to one side....   :-wall :))

This is Revell's recent re-release of the old Monogram P-47D Razorback. It's still a great kit. Nice decals come with it for three birds. I chose "The Pied Piper" because I thought it was kinda funny. Built out-of-the-box. Painted with Tamiya and Gunze paints. For the money (I paid US$16.00), it is plenty of modeling fun for not much cash.

And now that this is done, I can get back to Spitfires! :D

Thanks Srecko!

That last photo you have there is the one I plan to build.

Someone over on Hyperscale posted a How-To article for building that plane! Very good article, and explained very well.

Thanks for your help too! I love the photos and the drawings you sent. :)

This should be a fun build!

I have the Monogram T-6 kit, and I want to convert it to an A-27. I have several photos to work with, but I was wondering if anyone had ever done that conversion and could share their experience doing that. I'm particularly interested in how the cowl and fuselage forward-firing guns were modified.

Thanks for any help!

Can do- I build 2 or 3 a month so that should not be a problem. Let me see if I have something interesting in the stash to build.
