Aircraft Modeling / Belgian Mirage 5 (PJ 1/72)
« on: February 13, 2019, 06:29:04 PM »
In parallel with the 1/48 Mirage 5 from Wingman, I'm beginning another one but at 1/72 scale from PJ.
New tooling kit with all the interpanels more discrete...

Aircraft Modeling / Belgian Mirage 5 (Wingman 1/48)
« on: February 02, 2019, 07:14:46 PM »
Wingman Models boxed the Kinetic Mirage IIIE with resin parts and decal sheet for Belgian Mirages 5BA/5BR.
The resin parts are nice but will ask for attention when removing from the carrots : some corrections will be needed.  The 1700L subsonic reservoirs presents lots of little bubbles in the resin at the top of the part, surrounding the fixation to the wing. That will ask for minutious work… Those reservoirs are in two elements ; assembly was OK but a little bit of putty is needed at the junction of the parts.
Decals are made with the help of DACO. DACO is producing many decals for Belgian aircrafts
Actually I don’t know if I will use the decal sheet of the box or the specail Mirage 5 decal sheet (also made by DACO)…
My documentation consists in two excellent books…

Aircraft Modeling / "Master project": Cute Messerschmitt Bf 109Z
« on: November 29, 2018, 07:19:42 PM »
I'am actually working on a Master for Retrokit: a conversion set for the "Cute" Me 109E from Tiger Model, to transform it into a Bf 109Z.
Of course two kits are needed; as also the RetroWings conversion set for a Bf 109G (two sets to be right).
Here is my actual work: I'm making the "central" wing after having cut and joined the left wing of the right fuselage and the right wing of the left fuselage. I've also filled the right cockpit.

Miscellaneous Subjects / Nymphs
« on: September 01, 2018, 04:53:01 PM »
Still from El Viejo Dragon, two nymphs at 1/43 scale (4 cm).
First step was base paint in white then Tamiya Flesh airbrushed - But Tamiya is a little bit too dark for my taste so I will airbrush a nex base with same tamiya paint with some white paint added...

Ground Forces / World War Toons T34/76 converted into T34/85
« on: August 24, 2018, 06:07:50 PM »
World War Toons kits are "chibi" kits (or "cute", or "eggs"  :)) ).
Meng have released some tanks, amongst them is a T34/76. My frien Domi from Retrokit released a conversion set for a T34/85 that I prefer with its more performing gun...

Aircraft Modeling / Dewoitine 501 (Dora Wings 1/48)
« on: August 19, 2018, 03:21:31 PM »
The Dewoitine 501 is for me one of the beautifulest fighters ever built.
Dora Wings release that aircraft. It's short run but parts are nice. Anyway, the build will ask for attention because the instruction sheet is not easy to understand. First thing: the "version A" is the Spanish Republican version and "version B" is the Japanese one. Not indicated on the drawings sheets...
The windshield is in transparent resin like the position lights. Wheels are also in resin as some other parts.
Actually all the parts are washed.

Aircraft Modeling / Renard 31 (FRROM 1/72)
« on: August 19, 2018, 03:16:14 PM »
The Renard 31 was the only aircraft 100% Belgian made that participated in combat to all the 18 days campaign of 1940.
Frrom just released the kit. Short run but at first sight, a nice one!

Aircraft Modeling / Dornier 27 (Special Hobby 1/72)
« on: August 19, 2018, 03:13:42 PM »
Time to prepare the next builds as I've finished the Rafale M and I'm finishing the "cute" Corsair...
This is the Dornier 27 from Special Hobby at 1/72 scale.
Nice kit; hope the build will be fun...
Of course, I will build the Belgian version  :))

Miscellaneous Subjects / Gladiatrix training
« on: July 21, 2018, 02:55:01 PM »
I falled in love with the production of "El Viejo Dragon" from Spain. Those figures are very well sculpted and... sexy!
As for "l'emmerdeuse" I will try to paint the figures with oil paints; but first a coat of acrylic is better. I airbrushed Tamiya XF-15 Flesh on all the figures and have begun to paint details with other acrylic paints (Vallejo, Citadel Colors...)

Miscellaneous Subjects / L'emmerdeuse

I will not translate the title  :))
...Let say: the boring woman

I will try to paint that figure with oil paints.

Miscellaneous Subjects / Two horse
« on: June 23, 2018, 10:30:28 AM »
Well, back to "my harras"!

A friend from the theatre group asked me to paint a horse for her granddaughter.
...And on a garage sale, I found a nice horse heat that I will paint for the birthday of another friend.

Work in progress: base color applied and Maskol used to protect the white parts of the bodies...

Miscellaneous Subjects / St Therese of Lisieux
« on: June 23, 2018, 10:25:18 AM »
A friend of mine who is catholic ordered for a little figure of St Thérèse of Lisieux to an Italian shop. She was thinking that the figure was painted but she received this one... (Nicely sculpted in wood)

...And back with a new "cute" Corsair from Tiger Models, with the cockpit detail set from Retrowings

Aircraft Modeling / Messerschmitt Me 209 V1 (Special Hobby 1/72)
« on: February 05, 2018, 03:48:30 PM »
I've bought that kit two days ago, during the expo of "les Fêlés du modélisme" at Roselies (Belgium).
It's a short run but of excellent quality.
Work started by a wash of all the parts and the canopy put in a bath of Klir.
Then I removed all the unneeded parts from the sprue and prepaired the ones that will be used.
Exhausts are glued on the half fuselages; a hole is made in the engine cover to permit the placement of the propellers support; the parts that will receive the wheel legs are also glued and I've also put some elements in Evergreen to obtain a good alignment when I will glue the half fuselages together...

Aircraft Modeling / Kfir C2 (kit AMK au 1/72)
« on: January 13, 2018, 03:11:57 PM »
OK, new project. I have to build this one for "KIT", the IPMS-Belgium magazine.

Kit looks very nice.

The most important thing is that you have to choose the deco you want to build before to begin (holes must be done differently into the wings for a C2 than a C7) and also the load charges to use...

Here I've begun the work. I will build an Equatorian Kfir C2...
