So this one is next in line but I will have some problem with this Canadian sample. Note strange looking tail flag and tail color.... black or blue?

Srecko,

Please see the  photo on my sitefor the tail insignia, (http://www.bombercrew.com/6SFTS.htm the aircraft in the photo is from the #6SFTS Museum, the serial number on the Harvard in the photo appears to be 2660, I have provided a link for you so you can see its history.

I believe the colour of the rudder is blue but have no way of confirming it.

Hope this helps!
 Matt

My cousin's crew were attacked by one in their Halifax bomber shortly after D-Day but they managed to
chase it off, the gunners flet they hit it but no claim was ever made.

Very cool profile, its good to see lesser known a/c getting their due.

You know I never told you this but this was my first kit ever build (as a child my parents bought it in children store here in Belgrade) :-love

Same here, it was the first model kit that I ever bought and built entirely on my own.

This is it- in the color of Afghanistan  :-ok

No.1,

You are obviously a master at creating these pieces! How long does it take you to produce a typical profile?

Warplane Art / Where to find Insignia?
« on: June 26, 2008, 04:00:18 AM »
Hi all,

I'm working my way through the tutorial on the '109 profile (its been a fun and frustrating experience as I am teaching myself photoshop at the same time!). Is there any sites where I can download the German insignia rather than create it from scratch?

Cheers!
Matt

Hi MAtt. Can you see if there is a Canadair Sabre in the musem next time you go there? I would love to see it  :-love  :-tri

Hi Wingman, there is indeed a Sabres there painted in the colours of the Golden Hawks a 1950's RCAF Aerobatic team. I took this photo this past March, it as transparent panels on one side of it for display purposes.

Hy Matt, welcome, and how is it there, near a home of the famous Avro Arrow? :) I had a lunch in a restaurant on the top of tower near falls (before few years), so I know how your city looks (a little bit).
Great that You are here. :-wave

I have driven past the factories where the Arrow was built many times (Malton, Ontario about 1 hour from here). I also live near the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum which has one of the world's two flying Lancs, it will be on display next weekend at the Russell Group airshow. The Russell group owns a Spitfire, a Hurricane and a 109, all fly! The '109 is a BoB veteran.

If any of you need info on the any of the aircraft just let me know! Thanks for your gracious welcoming!

Hello to all in this group!

I have lurked here for quite some time and have recently joined the forum with the intention of participating.

My passion in aviation goes back to my youth and I am also a private pilot. My father was a paratrooper and was always interested in a/c and that got me hooked. I also run a website dedicated to the men of RAF Bomber Command (www.bombercrew.com).

My interest in the aviation art stems from the fact that I am an Industrial Designer and naturally drawn to such subjects. However, due to family obligations etc, I haven't spent much time drawing and painting over the past decade but that is something I hope to reverse.

It is inspiring to see such talented individuals producing such quality work, I hope you all won't mind sharing with a newbie. :)

Regards,
