Ground Forces / TAM 4500 DV
« on: January 12, 2023, 07:04:34 PM »
This truck was made in former Yugoslavia, it has it use in military and in civil purposes as well. It was made in TAM factory ( Tvornica Avtomobilov Maribor, now Slovenia ) and it was an Magirus-Deutz design produced by lycence. It has 4 cylinder air cooled diesel engine 85 Hp, it could carry 4.5 tons load on road and 2.5 tons off road, it has all wheel drive. There was many variants of this truck made ( variants such as 2x4 and with many different carrier variants, later on with V6 engine ) this model is build mostly for military with a winch mounted in front.

This is testing of TriglavModels resin 3D printed kit, 1/35 scale, by this I would like to thank TriglavModels for provided model.

First I started with chassis, after cleaning started the build. It need a lot of dry fittings, have to pay a lot of attention to be sure of parts gluing place, I suggest you go only one at the time, but the parts are surprisingly good fitting ( well designed ). Due to accuracy the parts are very thick and fragile, I learned on the hard way, managed to broke a few pieces but nothing too bad, all easy repair ( my fault, didn't pay attention on manufacturer warning about this... )

Here is the progress so far

Aircraft Modeling / Ju 87
« on: June 09, 2022, 02:11:51 AM »
Hi fellas !

I started a new project, JU-87 B2 The Partisan Stuka. After a mistake of crew landed Ju-87 B2 Wr.Nr.0406 5B+ER on airfield Rajlovac and been captured by Yugoslav Partisans. Soon it flew again with new markings and continued to serve partisans and after the war the YPA Air Force. The research about the painting is still on, so far I found out a varios ( at least three ) paintings of the same Stuka but more to follow about this as the project go on...

About the kit : I got Italeri Ju-87 B2 in 1/48 scale. It is a very good kit, as I searched the internet the only aftermarket for this kit is exhaust, propeller and the MG. I was surprised, after I looked the inside of the box I found out why. It is very detailed kit even with PE parts, reminding me to early Eduard kits. Surface details are very good. As you all know I am a " rivet counter " modeler, so I will post the pictures in few days.

P.S. In the meantime if anybody have some pictures or drawings of this bird it is more than welcome. See ya soon !

Aircraft Modeling / Mig 15
« on: November 02, 2021, 09:32:40 AM »
Well I'm stuck with my F 104. The tamiya paint remover is so good that it resolves the glue as well so many parts fell off, I glued them back again, then surfacer and discovered a lot of damage after removing the paint, fix some of them but I just can't look at it anymore, for a while at least....

So I needed a relax project. Some time I'm thinking of making this diorama, last year I went to the Duna?jv?ros ( Hungary ) sport airfield, near the main entrance there is a Mig -15 of Hungary AF on pole with a monument under it remembering the lost aviators during the years.

The kit I choose is Hobby 2000 ( the kit in box is actually Bronco ) no fancy updates only few wires here and there, the painting will be fun.

As a first step here are the pictures I had taken and the whole thing should look something like this

Aircraft Modeling / F-104
« on: November 12, 2020, 07:27:25 PM »
Well now, since I have I don't know how many started kits it's time for another one..... But this time I wish to keep it simple as possible and maybe, just maybe actually finish it this year, it would be the first and only finished one this year... Oh well, what can I say....

It's a very well known Hasegawa kit 1/48 scale in Eduard box with lot of extras, which however didn't stop me to get some more. Not much only Aires wheel bays, Master pitots and the pylons and the wheels are on their way to me....

After comparing the kit with drawings and pictures I found Hasegawa panels and rivets are a bit of fantasy but I don't want to do anything with them, a little attractive painting ( for me it is anyway ) should compensate it.

The cockpit is a bit upgraded, Hasegawa's pretty poor and these areas are visible on the kit so I had to do some scratch work. The main wheel bays are installed, I was very surprised to see it fits perfectly, no mayor surgery was needed, first time from Aires......

Here are the pictures of progress so far more to follow

So I pick up a model from my stash and I will try to finish it this year, I don't know can I manage this but I will try.... so the kit is Eduard's Macchi 202 Folgore, I got Brassin exhaust, Brassin wheel bay, SBS cockpit, Aires contol surfaces and Kagero book..... Well, I'm a bit stuck with my F-4 project so I decided to take a brake and make one OOB kit, just to relax a bit. I choose an a bit aged Eduard's kit but I just love this bird and I will make a Royal Yugoslav Air Force one, the Š-07.... Oh, yes, did I said OOB ? Well almost, Eduard's PE set is in the game and Eduard's Brassin wooden propeller..... As the first step I build the cockpit and the engine

Miscellaneous Subjects / railroad modeling
« on: October 29, 2018, 06:10:35 PM »
From time to time I make a little " trip " in to railroad modeling, HO scale, big plan is to make a huge railroad diorama on the attic.... It's mostly painting and weathering but I plan to build some locomotive but that will come later on, much later.... I won't start a new topic for every work I will join them all here, be free to post here everything you have about railroad. At first one of my work from earlier this year, weathering and graffiti found on the net

Aircraft Modeling / F4 G Phantom II
« on: March 17, 2018, 01:18:09 PM »
Well, maybe the best way to start this topic is :

A long time a go in a galaxy far far away......

About a 15 years ago I got this model on real barging on one show in the Czech Republic, the box was with Aires cockpit, Eduard PE and mask
Couldn't resist, I just love the rhino so I got it and didn't really know what to do with it, didn't like the painting......However during the years I never give up on it, when I saw something related to the F-4 i got it, so I got a really almost everything that can be found out there on the market, maybe the one thing I don't have is the vacuum cockpit......... But still no painting that I like, but sometimes when I got some free time I searched the internet and suddenly I find it ! It was love at the first sight !

« on: October 17, 2017, 06:55:06 PM »
Finally I got me a work bench where I moved so I can start to build models. As a first one I picked out Hobby Boss Tornado IDS in 1/48 scale with a lot of " goodies " some are here right now, a few ones to follow. It will be RSAF ( Royal Saudi Air Force ), can't resist to the colors on it.....
And here is what it would be build of

Miscellaneous Subjects / DIY photo box
« on: September 05, 2017, 06:11:00 PM »
I found on the net a DIY photo box tutorial, as  an open minded I am I decided to try it out.... Components are a simple paper box, three table lamps, three same light bolts and common kitchen baking paper. The box is cut on tree sides with about 2 cm frame left, reinforced with plane self adhesive tape and then the kitchen paper is applied over again with the tape. The table lamps are putted on three sides out of the box, to get light on the paper, the paper equalize the light " killing " the spot light effect.... these are some first shots, the upper light bolt is not same as the two on the side, grey background but I will try out white one as well, pictures taken with the phone... in a few days I will make final settings and share it with you chaps
