Warplane Art / Van Berkel WB
« on: Yesterday at 09:07:08 PM »
The Van Berkel W-B was a single engine Dutch long range reconnaissance seaplane built in the early 1920s for work in the Dutch East Indies. Six were operated by the Dutch Naval Aviation Service (MLD) with disappointing results,
The WB floatplanes had flutter and stability problems, though the last two were not decommissioned until 1933.

Their are no profiles or line-drawing images from the van Berkel WB. So in making a profile I used photo’s from IPMS Nederland and the color schemes from KW Jonker’s website and drawing from the Hansa-brandenburg W29.

Warplane Art / White & Thompson No 3
« on: May 21, 2020, 06:00:31 PM »
Hi Guys,

Nothing produced here for some time. I came across a photo of a White & Thompson flying boat. A Type 3, which was hit by German anti-aircraft at Zeebrugge in 1915 during WW1. Landed at West-Kapelle in Zeeland and was confiscated by the Dutch Navy. The pilot, Flight Lieutenant D.G Murray was captured. The aircraft was taken into use by the Dutch Navy Aviation Service and I made the profile of this photo. It was used at MKV De Mok in Texel in 1917.

Warplane Art / Curtiss Model F

I started making profile drawings from old USN birds, because they were scarcely drawn. I make them also for wings-aviation, a site belonging to Michael Fader. So here is an early bird: Curtiss Model F
