I wonder where are the bombing scenes from? is this from a movie?

I think it will be hard to find out the raid details  , Lancaster Squadrons were flying nightly raids over Germany in the late 40's.

To come back to the topic i would be very interested to know how recce could be done of GDR territory. For example wouldnt it have been possible to hide recce cameras in supply airplanes to West Berlin?

Unsure about that, but the RAF did have a number of aircraft flying to West Berlin over East Germany, I will do some research.

The reconnaissance we undertook was training all around West Germany, it was for the day when the Russians attacked
Saying that, I was there when all the RAF Harriers were shipped out for the war in the Falklands, a number of reconnaissance pods were also taken and recce missions were flown, with the Royal Navy processing and printing printing the film.

Of note is the only British POW of the war was an RAF Harrier pilot who I think was shot down as he undertook a reconnaissance mission.

I think that could be from were it was scanned in. The RAF at this time did not have any digital reconnaissance systems.
