Warplane Art / Re: North American P-51 Mustang
« on: December 14, 2009, 11:55:18 PM »
Hi mate,  :-salut

Very good work for a very pretty plane.  :-ok  :-obey
But... No French P-51 at all... Armée de l'air has had P-51Cs and P-51Ds (and too some F-6Cs and F-6Ds).  :-evil

Like those ones :

Aircraft Modeling / Junkers Ju 87 G-2 in 1/72.
« on: December 06, 2009, 10:18:37 AM »
Hi mates,  :-salut :-salut :-salut :-salut :-salut

Not a recent kit but interesting by the fact it's a mix of two kits  :-green : Frog Ju 87 G for the fuselage and improved engine cowling and Airfix Ju 87 B-2 for the wings, the landing gear, intérior of cockpit, spinner, all modified into Ju 87 G standard. All other details are my own build. This is an anonymous Stuka that was captured at Pilsen (or Kitzingen ?) and might have belonged to NSG 9.

First, the real thing :

Then, the kit :

Hi Santynus,  :-salut

Really a good work. Bravo !   :-clap :-clap :-ok
Two details are to be corrected :
1) The front ring of the engine's air intake is not black but blue as color of the plane.
2) No black ring at the cocades. I think it's an effect of the decals usued on the kit on "Fighter" forum. This is the result of the diameter of the white area under the red color of the cocade is smaller than the diameter of the red ring...

Here an image of 500200 :

And the origin of 500313 in 1966... from an era when all was to be doscovered upon the Me 262 :
It's to be noted the WNr is not very legible...

I agree and must note that except on the images I have not seen this color in live. Is this Bleu de Mirage?

I must say : I don't know...   :-red

Maybe you're right. I think your color is just a little too blue or too gloss.

Very good job !  :-clap :-clap :-clap
I think the rendering is due to the photo but it looks a little too blue.

Combat Warplanes / Re: French He 162, N°3 with running engine...

I know that color, protective but look also like one camouflage color...

I don't think so. The reality is simplier : He 162 N°3 had the nose of N°2 which had been entirely painted wine-red (more precisely "bordeaux", a sort of red-maroon) having been exposed during a wine fair at... Bordeaux. This color has been found during restoration of He 162 N°2 (actually WNr 120015, yellow 21 in the Luftwaffe) of the Musée de l'air et de l'espace at Le Bourget.

Here are two links :
1) for a model kit :

2) for restoration of WNr 120015 :
(On the opening page you have to click on "He 162 N°120015")
