No, this is not the question if styrene kits are easier to build. It's the resin that I don't like...

Very beautiful kit.  :-ok  :-obey
Unfortunately, I don't like resin... It's a pity because there are very interesting resin kits...

Some 15 years ago I have built for my friend one kit of this plane in 1/48 scale, but I can not remember manufacturer. It was all Sea Blue Gloss and with Quantico inscriptions.

:-ok

Hi No. 1,  :-salut :-salut

That was the same, by Hawk or Testor's Hawk. The kit represents an F8F-2 with slightly different engine cowlings and a taller fin and rudder assembly.

Interesting sample and very nice build...
Is Hobbycraft same kit as Hawk?

Hi Samuraj,  :-salut

No, the Hobbycraft kit is a different one... with some inaccuracies more difficult to correct than modifying the old Hawk's.

Different shades of alu are great! I still have this old kit unbuilt in the Lindbergh box of 1967/

Hi Nico,  :-salut

Very good treasure !  :-ok
Have the other one in 1/85 scale from 1959 ?

I've project to build this one (1989 edition with an error for the scale (1/128 in lieu of 1/85 !) :

Hi mates,

Here is the old kit by Hawk of the Bearcat in 1/48 scale. The kit représents an F8F-2 abd has been modified into an F8F-1b of the French unit EROM 80 (Photo recon) in Indo-China in 1954.
The canons are lacking... because I forgot to fit them...  :-red

The ventral tank has been modified on the field to carry aerial cameras :

The plane with the actual unit badge :

The undersurfaces :

I've got another bearcat bu Hobbycraft and I've to paint it...

Aircraft Modeling / Near 1/72 scale Convair B-58 Hustler
« on: February 19, 2010, 09:10:26 AM »
Hi mates,  :-salut :-salut :-salut

Here is a kit of Lindberg (1967) in 1/66 scale.
This is the B-58 Hustler. I built it in 1982.

Without the ventral pod :

There are many inaccurate details but it was the only (with rare 1/77 scale Aurora's one) to be near the 1/72 scale until the edition of Italeri's.

Hi mates,  :-salut

Pierre Clostermann wrote also a book upon his Tour of Duty in Algeria : "Appui-feu sur l'Oued Hallaïl".
I don't know if an English version of this book does exist.

Hi mate,  :-salut :-salut :-salut

Thank you very much.
You draw the model you want. If you prefer the D model, it's OK.

Have a good day.
