I ask info about Fw190D-9 with black underside and white strips on the Luftwaffe Experten Message Board...
I recive this answer from Peter Evans administrator of LEMB
....I think the idea that there were black/white stripes comes from old interpretation of b/w images. I'm sure I've seen one of my older books with a caption claiming the stripes were black/white... but of course, colour images published in recent years showing red/white stripes have since put the record straight...
