Hi mates,  :-salut :-salut

That will build a good squadron of MiG 21s.

As recollection, look at mine built in May, 1981... This is the revell kit in 1/48 scale :

Your red one look great and hope daughter is impressed too! Are you going to make any else samples?

No, not in the next future. My daughter (now aged 41) doesn't want to keep her kit. It's the reason why it's at home...
I've too many kits to finish and I work so slowly. Tuesday, if the weather permits (sun !) I'll take pictures of my complete F-100A but still without markings.

Hi everybody,  :-salut :-salut

Here is surely a "Museum kit" from Airfix. This kit was issued for the first time in... 1957 ! It was continually on the shelves from 1957 to 1976, then from 1998 to 2002 and finally from 2010 to today...
Mine has been built in 1977 for my daughter who wanted to get a red airplane.
You see just below the illustration from 1976 (To be noted is the price at 4,20 FF equivalent of today 2,30 Euros. The kit is sold this year at the price of £ 5.39 in GB (about 6,80 Euros...) :

Now, the kit which hast lost the propeller blades. The decals have yellowed...

The reissue of 2010 with a new illustration indicating a change for this kit, but as you will see this is the only improvement :

Look at the pilots : a typical representation of the 1950s :

Aircraft Modeling / F-100A now entirely metalized...
« on: January 08, 2012, 07:07:32 PM »
Hi everyone,  :-salut :-salut

The F-100A is now entirely metallized.
Hand-painted Humbrol Metalcote buffed with aluminium powder. I find it's too shiny and I have to varnish it to reduce reflexion. F-100As were not very gloss...

And... Jicehem during metallization of the F-100 :

Hi Draken35

Is not your avatar the General Zantas' sign ?

Jicehem  :-wave :-wave

Absolutely! Viva Zantas! ;)
(For all the others, my avatar is inspired from an European (French/Belgian) comics serie "Spirou & Fantasio"...)

J've got all stories by André Franquin and others but I prefer those by Franquin. I discovered Spirou & Fantasio in... 1950 at the age of 6 with the story (published weekly) "Mystère à la frontière"...

Combat Warplanes / Re: North American F-86 Sabre
« on: January 07, 2012, 09:14:10 PM »
Hi everybody,  :-salut :-salut

Some pictures of French F-86K :
1) North American F-86K Sabre, sn 55-4860, 13-QV of EC 1/13 "Artois" in 1957. One of the few, if not the sole to have received complete markings with unit insignas. The only one to have not been modified with the span-extended wing of the F-86F-40 (and consequently F-86L) :

North American F-86K Sabre, sn 55-4854, 13-PX of EC 2/13 "Alpes" :

North American F-86K Sabre, 55-4858, 13-PN of EC 2/13 "Alpes" with the new wing :

North American F-86K Sabre, sn 55-4862, 13-QY of EC 1/13 "Artois" also with the new wing :

Components were manufactured by FIAT in Italy and planes were assembled in France. After retirement of the "Armée de l'Air" 12 of the 60 F-86K were given the Italian Air Force,  12 returned to the USA and 8 having been lost in accidents, the remaining were destroyed with explosives... but one preserved fot the Musée de l'Air at Le Bourget near Paris.

And the final images- prototype  :-clap

Hi mate,  :-salut :-salut

Very interesting collection of photographs.
When she flew on 1 october 1947 with "PU-597" buzz-number she was still XP-86A... She became XF-86A after June 1948.
I see that French, German and Italian F-86K are missing...

Hi mate,  :-salut :-salut

Nice model and good work.

Did you know the Fw 189 A has been produced in France ? Including one version (only in prototype form) with Gnome-Rhône engines.
