Excellent progress mate :-ok Hope that Mathilde would not start make plastic kits, otherwise you will not have photographer any more :))

Thank you!
Wel, Mathilde made excellent model kits two years ago, she won numerous contests in junior category with her "Da Vinci Tortoise" from RetrokiT; and her " Ladybug" and "Ant" (Formica Rufa) from Heller. But since last year, she don't be interrested anymore actually...

Thank you Scott!

Well, cockpit is finished! It's really a kit into the kit, and I'm proud of the result I've obtained.
First two photos are made by my 13 years old daughter Mathilde; she's very good to take photos...

Then I've worked on the tail wheel, using PE parts from the "Exterior" set from Eduard. Asked some attention...

And finally the fuselage is closed...

My German seller told me that he sent me the machineguns today; so I hope to receive that set in the beginning of next week. That will give me time to work on the engine on the meantime ;)

I agree with you mate, for aircrafts with tiny cockpits, PE zoom is perfect!

Anyway, I've continued the work, being at home today...

First, the instrument panels. So many little PE parts to glue... But what a great result! Stunning!!! I have placed a drop of Tamiya clear varnish  on each instrument to simulate glasses.

Then I have finished weathering of some parts of the cockpit, with a drybrush of Citadel Colors "Mithril Silver" where the pilot place his feets; and I have used an aequous pencil (Caran d'Ache "Chestnut brown") better than to make an oil wash - That evitates to use matt varnish/clear varnish on the colored PE parts, and it's an appreciable spare of time.

Instruments of the consoles were painted in black and drybrushed in Mithril Silver.

Next time: seatbelts...

Seems that this little kit ask for tons of works...
But excellent work anyway, mate!

I didn't mean on bad photos. :-flo Photos are great, parts are soooo tiny... :-flo ;)
I wanted to say that you must to make good pictures when cockpit be over, to see all the details of this wonderful cockpit. I had no intention of comparing the current image, and some future. ;)

OK Sall, no problem but don't forget that once the half fuselage will be glued together, the cockpit will be very tiny... ;)

You must take some better photos of cockpit, when it be finished. ;) I think that this will be magnificent! :)

I agree for the photos, Sall. The light is poor actually and I don't have good material enough (spots) to make photos...
For the cockpit of course I have lot of work to do before it will be finished. But I really hope to realise the best cockpit I've ever done...

Once dry (again...), I've delicately removed the Maskol/Neo with a Q-tip.

Then you have a nice effect of weathering, with a paint that is, as we say in French, "very tired" ;)

Thank you!

For the Aires machineguns, I have found a set in a shop in Germany... Hope to receive it quickly!!!

Well, a new use of the now infamous sponge!!! Firstly, I've airbrushed white primer then Gunze H-58 as recommended by Eduard. Once dry, I've applied Maskol (or Neo) with a sponge on the parts. Once dry, I've airbrushed Tamiya XF-4 (yellow green) highly diluted (one part paint for ten parts thinner)

White primer applied, and the parts that will be covered with decals are masked.
